YouthCoLab is an international educational project aimed at developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills among young people through innovative educational methods. The project will result in an engaging board game and an educational methodology that will help young people better understand environmental and social challenges.
By combining education and entertainment, we aim to increase youth awareness of environmental issues and encourage them to actively participate in building a more sustainable future. The project builds on the previous successes of the partners and proven educational game-based learning methods.

Who is the project for?

YouthCoLab is designed for:
1. Young people aged 15-30, including those from rural areas and those facing challenges in traditional education.
2. Teachers, educators, and youth workers, who can use the developed tools in their work.
3. Community leaders and youth organizations, looking for innovative ways to engage young people in environmental and social initiatives.

Project outcomes

The project will develop and implement the following key components:
Educational Board Game – a tool that teaches through play, helping young people develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. The game will be available in three languages: Polish, English, and Slovak.
Educational Methodology – a set of materials for teachers and youth workers, providing guidance on effectively using the game in various educational environments, including school lessons, workshops, and hackathons.
International Events and Testing, including:
– Co-creation of the game with input from young people and experts.
– Workshops and game testing sessions in Poland and Slovakia.
– An international hackathon, where young people will use the game to create innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
Dissemination Activities – distribution of the game and methodology to schools, libraries, youth centers, and educational organizations, along with extensive online promotion.

Galactic Odyssey: Re-Thinkers to półkooperacyjna gra planszowa (2-6 osób, 14+, 30-45 min), w której wcielasz się w młodych eko-eksploratorów podróżujących po galaktyce. Odwiedzacie pięć planet dotkniętych wyzwaniami środowiskowymi (m.in. zmiany klimatu, odpady, zanieczyszczenia) i próbujecie przywrócić równowagę poprzez wiedzę, dyskusję i odpowiedzialne wybory.

Galactic Odyssey: Re-Thinkers is a semi-cooperative board game (2-6 players, ages 14+, 30-45 minutes) where you become young eco-explorers traveling across the galaxy. You visit five planets facing environmental challenges (e.g., climate change, waste, pollution) and work to restore balance through knowledge, discussion, and responsible choices. Gameplay combines ecology quiz questions, dilemma cards, and short challenges that spark conversation about trade-offs and real-life consequences. The game introduces the ESG perspective (Environmental-Social-Governance) and key Design Thinking steps-from understanding the problem and stakeholders, to generating ideas, choosing solutions, and reflecting on outcomes.
